Ten On Tuesday #11

1. What temperature do you keep your thermostat on during the day?

Honestly, we don't have an air conditioner here at home. My husband is asking me about buying one a week ago and I told him no because we are just staying here in this house temporarily and I don't think I can handle any mess as of the time being..

3. In a canister of mixed nuts, do you pick out certain varieties and leave the others?

Haha! Yes, yes, yes! My husband sometimes asks me why I would by mixed nuts and then just choose the cashew nuts when I can buy a separate one. I told him that the mixed nuts has salt in it included and it just tastes right *wink*

4. What is your favorite kind of M&M?

I love the small ones..

5. How do you buy books? (Amazon, bookstore, new, used, electronic, etc)

Although I have some eBooks and I like reading them, still I'm an avid fan of paperback. I personally buy my books straight from the bookstores. If I saw an interesting movie or books from friends, I will check first for some books reviews (but not always)..

6. How do you like your eggs cooked?

I liked it scrambled in the frying pan..

7. Can you whistle?

Honestly I can't but until now, I'm still trying..

8. What common word do you always misspell?

Haha! The word "scread" hahaha! I always mistype them but not misspell them ;p

9. Are you afraid of flying?

Slight. It started when a favorite uncle of mine (my father's cousin) jumped out of a helicopter with a parachute, died. Although his death has nothing to do with planes and helicopters, I was traumatized because of what happened to him. But when my husband and I went to an island here in the Philippines for our honeymoon, I have no choice but to ride a small plane..

10. How often do you go shopping?

I don't really know honestly, but we're always at the mall at least twice a week haha!

1. What is your favorite brand of shoes?

I don't really have a favorite brand of shoes, I buy shoes when and if I saw a nice one on any stores, but with consideration ;p

2. How old were you when you learned to tie your shoes?

hahaha! I don't really remember, I didn't get the chance to ask my mother about it, but I will, for sure, remember when my daughter will learn ti  tie hers :)

3. How do you feel about freckles?

They are part of blessed people who have it..

Three languages..

5. What is your favorite store-bought ice cream flavor?

Vanilla, my all time favorite..

6. Were you in ballet or gymnastics as a little girl?

Neither, but I love it when it's P.E. time. I wish my daughter will like to have a ballet class someday..

Honestly I love them all..

8. What’s your bedtime?

hahaha! Lately I don't have a permanent bed time, I'm so engrossed on what I'm reading I forget what time it is already..

9. Do you have any jewelry that you wear every single day?

I don't wear my wedding and engagement rings when I'm at home, I won't be able to do some household works that needs hand force when they're on my fingers, I only wear them when we have visitors and when going out..

10. Who is the bug killer in your household?

that's my husband, I'm on the protective side of my daughter :)

1. Do you listen to the radio in your car?  If so, what type of station do you like?

I don't have a car yet, but yes, whenever I travel (alone) I listen to music..

2. What is the best concert you have ever attended?

I don't really attend to much concert but I like The Lighthouse Concert..

3. What is the most embarrassing concert you have ever attended?

Oh, none yet thank God ;p

4. If you could have the singing voice of anyone in the world, who would it be?

Whitney Houston, I really love her voice, it's whole and powerful..

5. You’re auditioning for American Idol.  What song do you sing?

I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston or Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson..

6. If your previous weekend had its own soundtrack, what would be a few of the songs?

Stuck On You by Lionel Ritchie, it's because it's one of the songs I was listening last weekend that I was able to remember LOL!

Television show? Hmmm... I don't know, I never thought of that, I think most people who are in charge of the theme songs for each show did some brainstorming...

8. Are you and your significant other music-compatible?

Oh yes, we both love music and the type..

Wahahaha! Maybe some of the songs from the 80's like Air Supply, Songs of Sharon Cuneta, Whitney Houston, Mariah....

Ten On Tuesday #8

Hello! I'm back. Well, I'm not so sure whether I could be back on blogging regularly or not yet. You see, I'm kind of busy. As in really busy. My husband came back from his London Trip last month and yet I'm still busy. I wish to post some pictures from my daughter's birthday later this afternoon.

1. What do you do for a living?

I don't, I'm a stay at home mom. It's my husband who works..

2. What’s your favorite thing about your job?

When I was still working as an all around teacher (I teach preschool, elementary and highschool in one day, yes I do that everyday!), I get to share experiences (personal and that of friends, haha!) to my students, get to collect punch lines for jokes (really!), I cause my students to learn and that's what matters the most to me.

3. What’s your least favorite thing about your job?

It's when I have to dispose the garbage in the afternoon...

You know, the school where I last taught was kind of a big company, but I don't know why they can't afford to have at least two janitors to help teachers. Teaching the whole day isn't a joke, so I guess that little thing can be a big help for us if only the management had thought of that.

4. If you weren’t a ____________, what would you be?

If I weren't a mom, I might still be teaching. I love teaching. Although it wasn't my first choice for  a course, I know that God has a purpose why I am a teacher.

5. What is something that you would love to get paid for that you think no one would ever pay you for?

The things I do before I had a baby ;p

6. If you could have any job for exactly one day, what would it be?

I'd like to try to be a Royal Guard. Nothing, I just want to know what it feels to just freeze there and only your eyeballs can move.

7. If you had to do manual labor, what would you do?

I don't know... Being a SAHM and a teacher actually requires manual labor doesn't it?

8. What is something you were forced to learn in high school that was supposed to be super important, but you never actually use?

Ahahaha! I'm a teacher so, everything I learned in highschool were as important as how I was trying convincing my students (highschool) that they are!

9. Who was your favorite boss?  Why?

The very first boss I had on my very first real teaching job. He's very helpful and understanding to all the teachers.

10. Where would you rather work: Dunder Mifflin Paper Company (The Office), Wernham Hogg Paper Company (The Office, UK), or Initech (Office Space)?

1. How do you pronounce the word aunt? Does your pronunciation rhyme with ‘haunt’ or ‘can’t'?

It rhymes with 'haunt' when I pronounce it..

2. Do most of the people in your life know you blog? Or are you partially or totally anonymous?

my family know I'm blogging, my brother has a blog too..

3. When you grocery shop, do you prefer to bag your own groceries or do you like it when the store bags them for you? Paper, plastic, or reusable bags?

I prefer my reusable bag and I hope they can give me the chance to bag my own grocery so I can properly arrange it. I remember one time when the baggage boy places the frozen goods scattered, some are with the canned goods, some are with the veggies, totally weird..

4. Do you have a green thumb?

oh yes I do, but I don't have time :)

5. If you watch the Food Network, which chef/show host is your favorite?

I like Food Network even if most of the time the chefs cooking make me hungry all the time and makes me hate that the grocery fas quite far from where we live :P My favorite chef is Giada de Laurentiis, I love everything she cook, or maybe because I love Italian food..

6. Do you like to take baths? Do you take them very often?

bath as in taking a bath?! Oh yes of course. It's not only part of your hygiene but it also freshen you up..

7. What color are the walls in your kitchen?

since this isn't our permanent house and we don't attempt to change anything here yet, it's color was the same as many years before - apple green..

8. Do you prefer to dine outdoors or indoors?

both. But of course it will depend on the weather :)

9. Describe your ideal weather.

it's in the middle of hot and cold :)

10. If you could learn any foreign language, which would you choose to learn?

French :)

Ten On Tuesday #6

1. From your childhood, what do you miss most about summer vacation?

I miss the ancestral house where we used to spend our summer vacation..

2. Are you going anywhere on vacation this summer?

here in the Philippines, summer starts at the end of March and ends at the beginning of June, I wasn't able to have a 'vacation' but I did went to some places with my family..

3. What foods do you like to barbecue?

chicken, kebab, pork..

4. How do you celebrate the fourth of July?

we don't have a Fourth of July holiday here but we have June 12 for Independence day. Although we don't really celebrate it here, schools do have presentations about it and other group of people who march on some important places here in Manila like Luneta Park..

5. What’s your favorite beverage to drink in the summertime?

oh.. umm.. you know I really prefer iced Tea for a drink but when summer started and the heat began to strike like there's no tomorrow, I can't live without Coke (and water)..

6. What movie are you looking forward to seeing this summer?

I'm looking forward to seeing X-men First Class, I think it's gonna be a good movie {I hope :)}

7. In the car: windows down or AC?

it really depends where we're traveling. If it's in Manila (the city), please turn on the AC. But if it's to the province, I like the window down to feel the breeze :0

8. Have you ever had a summer fling?

oops! hahaha! when I was a kid and my siblings, some cousins and I used to spend our summer in the province, we had a neighbor there who I think looks nice and neat, and he used to play and speak with me all summer about how I look and how cute my pigtail was and how he likes the color of my eyes :) I was in 6th grade and he was in second year high so I'm not interested on those things. But on our last summer stay there, he gave me a picture of him with dedication. My cousin told me that he has a crush on me then. I think he's really nice but no, I don't think I had a fling ever. But he's the only summer cutie I've ever known :)

9. Do you wear sunscreen?

oh yes, I do..

10. Do you have any favorite summertime activities?

In my younger years my cousins, siblings and I used to play all summer long. But when I was in highschool, I'm always at the church every summer to help in the Daily Vacation Bible School our church conducts every summer. Ever since then I always help on our DVBS. It's a one week activity not only for our your church goers but also for those young people around the church. And after that, we'll head on to the nearby resort, a treat for all the summer teachers :) But now, since I'm just starting to adjust with my family life, and my baby will just turn one next month, I don't have any favorite summertime activity yet..

Ten On Tuesday #2

1. How many blogs do you read every day and what are they? (I’m talking the ones you NEVER miss) my daily memes (see Daily Meme tab) Mr Robert Foo's Blog, boy I never miss a day without reading his posts, he's funny and knowledgeable and now I have a new favorite blog-my brother's blog..

2. How many “best friends” do you have? Do you have different “besties” for different areas of your life? I have three - God, Andrea and my husband; no they all know everything about me..

3. What’s your daily make up routine? nothing at the moment, since I became an SAHM, I never wear make up..

4. What is your ideal girl’s night? all girls (of course), having some make-up time, exchanging tips and talking about our husbands LOL!

5. Do you keep up with your nails/toenails or are they au natural? I keep them up - I have to :)

6. What’s your best roommate story (assuming you had a roommate at some point in your life)? I can't really say that I had fun having to share a room with other people. Like when I was in college I had 7 roommates in a very small cupboard-under-the-stair like room (I was a freshman then) and they're always exchanging notes from the boys down stairs (there was a small peep hole on the floor) and so the landlady was always asking us why our room's light was still open at the wee hours of the night.. And then on my very first job, since the location was kind of far from my parent's house, I joined my colleagues in the staff house so I won't be late at work. My first roommate then was a trying hard grown up that I was her shock absorber for the rest of the year before she resigned. And then I had another roommate after her who I thought was 'normal' but it turned out that she's doing 'something' really shocking that I wanted to have a temporary amnesia at that time before my mother asked me to get another job after two years of stay (LOL! that was a bit long)..

7. What’s your “go to” outfit that you wear more than anything else? a pedal pants and a tee..

8. Do you have a beauty secret? what's that?! LOL!

9. Did you read Seventeen magazine growing up? oh yes I did but that's when I was already grown up..

A new meme added on my Tuesday activity while finishing my daughter's guestbook and invitation.

1. When someone asks you for a book recommendation, what is your go-to book? for women it would be Chickensoup for the Soul Power Mom, for general readers try Twilight saga or the Harry Potter series or all of Nicholas Sparks and Mary Higgins Clark's collection, they're awesome!

2.  Do you buy your books, or are you a library patron? both..

3.  E-readers, yay or nay? oh it's fine, I also read e-books but I still prefer paper books and that's what I'm collecting..

4.  What was your favorite book as a child? I really really love Beauty and the Beast of all, but I have read all of The Ladybird collections, it's part of my childhood as well as my siblings' you know..

Gee, I remember how we used to just sit in our garden and be overwhelmed by these stories, after which we'll talk about what we have read or what hidden stuff we have discovered in those stories or our own conclusion.
