Alphabe Thursday #8

Jenny Matlock

Alphabe - Thursday Letter R

R is for Reading
I was reading a lot of books (pocketbooks) and some magazines lately. I had a couple of trips to the bookstore last week to buy some and never get enough. And right this very moment, I have this urge to get dress and head on to the nearest bookstore if only I know that my husband won't have a fit if I don. LOL! One time he asked me where our bed was coz all of the new books were on it as I was counting them and putting my name and the date I bought them.

I have loved reading ever since I was little. It was our past time at home, me and my sisters. And ever since, I dreamed of having my own library someday. Right now, I only have a medium sized shelf where some of my books and magazines were displayed and the rest were in a safe box.

I wish that my daughter would learn to love books as well. That's why I started reading books to her when she was still in my womb *wink*

I also bought a book that I have not yet read because I'm waiting for my husband to read it. Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. Yes. He learned to read pocketbooks when we were on our 4th year of relationship (funny). He said he caught the "virus" from me. LOL!

My husband says I'm the one who taught him to like reading, too. I think it was his only defense!

Can't imagine not having books surrounding me. Next to quilt fabrics and gardening stuff, books are my 3rd passion.
A while back I made my mother a little dolly quilt and matching pillow - I embroidered the words "Richer than I you will never be, I had a Mother who read to me."

Being taught to read is one of the greatest gifts in the world.

As a kid, I always got the maximum number of library books and finished them in no time. I should have spaced them out more, since I had to wait until someone could take me back to the library.

I love reading though sometimes I think I love the physical books and having it more than the actual reading.

when I was little, my mother and I would read together before I went to sleep. I think that's why I love books so much (we're both librarians). Go to your local library - some really nice people there! {:-Deb

My husband and I are both avid readers. I usually have my summer reading list out before now, but I am still READING!

We read so much! I spent my entire childhood with my nose in a book. My husband keeps Barnes and Noble in business, and out children have inherited our bibliophilia. We are to books what wood chippers are to trees. We devour them! I chose reading this week, to. :)

Oh, we love books, too!

It's one of our constant hunts on garage sales each week!

We usually find quite a few and then end up reading them until the next week rolls around!

This was a fun link! I liked reading about your love of books.

Thanks for sharing.
