Today we celebrate the World Press Freedom Day themed 21st Century Media: New Frontiers, New Barriers which this year will be hosted by United States. One event that will happen would be honoring or paying tribute to international journalists, group of people and/or organization who has contributed to what we are celebrating today.
Here in the Philippines, we have a high crime rate connecting to media killing, which until now, not all are given justice. And 2009 was said to be the darkest day for Philippine Journalism when a large number of media were brutally killed in Maguindanao. And media killing didn't stop there as the number of murders are still adding to what rate we have at this moment.
